  5. What We’ve Learned at athenahealth Thrive Summit 2025

Our team had the pleasure of attending this year’s athenahealth Thrive Summit in Nashville.

Over the course of three days, we attended keynote speeches, breakout sessions, and the exclusive Partners Forum, gaining fresh perspectives on the future of healthcare technology—and how Talkie.ai fits into it.

Here’s what we learned from the official talks and our own conversations with the attendees.

A Future Built on Connections

One theme echoed throughout the event—from the athenahealth CEO, Bob Segert’s keynote to product sessions and marketplace panels: “success in healthcare today depends on connections.”

That commitment was evident in athenahealth’s focus on creating richer integrations—between providers, partners, and the broader ecosystem. From improving data exchange with Epic to expanding marketplace capabilities, it’s clear that athenahealth is building for a connected future where patients, practices, and technology work seamlessly together.

That message resonated deeply with us at Talkie.ai. We’re proud to be part of that connected ecosystem, offering a deep integration with athenaOne that streamlines patient communications and reduces staff workload.

AI Is No Longer a “Nice-to-Have”

AI also took center stage at Thrive. Across sessions, speakers pointed to AI’s growing role in solving persistent challenges in healthcare—especially around patient access, clinical documentation, and claims.

This aligns closely with our mission: to use AI to automate the front desk experience, reduce patient wait times, and help practices operate more efficiently. It was exciting to hear this reinforced on both the main stage and in specialty sessions.

Real Conversations, Practical Perspectives

Beyond the tech, what stood out most were the conversations. We met with clients and partners, listened to practice leaders share their stories, and heard firsthand about the challenges clinics face—from overwhelming call volumes to staff shortages and burnout.

The breakout sessions were especially valuable for this. Most included both athenahealth’s and providers’ perspectives, giving a well-rounded view of how real clinics are navigating change.

The Partners Forum

We were also honored to join the athenahealth Partners Forum, an invite-only event where the team shared their evolving strategy for the athenahealth Marketplace and how they see partner collaboration playing a role in the future of connected care.

Looking Ahead

We left Thrive energized—not just by the ideas shared, but by the people we met and the shared vision that emerged: healthcare that’s more connected, more intelligent, and more human.

A big thank you to the organizers at athenahealth for hosting such a thoughtfully curated event. It was a privilege to be part of Thrive, and we’re excited to continue the conversations—and partnerships—that began in Nashville.

If we didn’t get a chance to speak at the event, we’d love to connect now.
